Quinte Business Development Commission (QBDC) is a group of organizations that help businesses grow and offer many services for entrepreneurs, new businesses, local companies, and businesses that want to move to the area. Staffing Agencies

A staffing agency is a company that helps businesses find and hire workers for different jobs. They match job seekers with companies that need employees. When someone applies for a job through a staffing agency, the agency will help them prepare for interviews and find a good job that fits their skills. Some staffing agencies specialize in certain industries, like healthcare or technology, while others help with many different types of jobs. The agency may also handle the hiring process and pay the workers, especially if the job is temporary or short-term.

Upskilling and Re-Skilling

Upskilling and reskilling are terms used to describe learning new skills to keep up with changes in the job market or to switch to a different career.

Upskilling: This means learning new skills or improving existing ones to do your current job better or to keep up with new technology and methods. For example, if you work in IT and take a course on the latest programming language, you are upskilling.

Reskilling: This means learning completely new skills to change careers or to do a different job within the same company. For example, if you work in retail and take a course to become a graphic designer, you are reskilling.

Healthcare

The Bay of Quinte Region offers many opportunities for physicians and other healthcare professionals wanting to practice in our community.

Work in Quinte as a division of The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities.

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with.

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
