We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in assembling mechanical components. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. The Mechanical Assembler will work closely with engineers and other team members to fabricate and assemble parts according to specifications. The Mechanical Assembler will also assist with large amounts of fabric cutting using our state-of-the-art laser cutting machine as well as hand-cutting when necessary.

Responsible for precisely cutting various materials according to patterns, operating specialized cutting machinery, and assisting in the packing and assembly of sea rescue kits, personal ejection packs, and other products. This position requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, physical strength, and the ability to understand and use measuring tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cutting:
  • Manually cut various materials (fabrics, webbing, etc.) to exact specifications using patterns and templates.
  • Operate webbing cutters and laser cutting machines to achieve precise cuts on different materials.
  • Ensure cut pieces meet quality standards and are free of defect
  • Packing and Assembly:
  • Assist in packing sea rescue kits, personal ejection packs, and other products according to instructions.
  • Perform vacuum packing of products as needed.
  • Label and prepare packed products for shipping.
  • General Labor:
  • Perform various tasks as assigned, including loading/unloading materials, cleaning work areas, and assisting other team members. This may involve bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
  • Measurement and Tools:
  • Accurately measure and mark materials using rulers, tape measures, and other tools.
  • Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Safety:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Skills:Manual dexterity and precision.
  • Ability to operate cutting machinery.
  • Understanding of measurement and use of measuring tools.
  • Attention to detail and quality consciousness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as required.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • May be exposed to loud noises and dust.
  • Requires standing for long periods, repetitive movements, bending, and lifting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.20-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
