With these goals in mind, Greenlife Retirement Residence Trenton Inc. will be upgrading our facility known as The Carrington Retirement Residence located at 114 Whites Road. These upgrades will provide new services and amenities, such as 365 indoor/outdoor activity and event spaces, advanced air handling systems to reduce airborne illness transmission, on-site medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and top-quality dining facilities.
In order to complete this new development and expansion, Greenlife Retirement Residence Trenton Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Manager (70010) to perform the following tasks:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising, planning, and developing, from start to finish, the construction of a new residential retirement facility
- Overseeing all design specifications and budgetary reports and estimates through the project and on any future projects to ensure developments are competed within the required time and budget.
- Responsible for the sourcing, negotiation and purchasing of building materials, land (as needed) and other resources required for project completion.
- Plan, monitor and achieve construction goals on schedule with defined milestones
- Report to senior management on progress of the overall project with a focus on regulatory compliance, completion of milestones and meeting budget requirements
- Negotiate and represent the company in developing terms to contracts with clients, suppliers, contractors and other third parties related to the construction of a new retirement facility
- Proactively monitor construction progress to ensure all permits are obtained by their required dates
- Responsible for providing quality control, both through direct supervision and the use of other professional evaluators, including building inspectors
- General recruiting, hiring and supervision of staff and contractors for the completion of a new residential retirement living facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in construction, engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience as a senior manager in construction or related field
- Construction Management experience required
- English required, Mandarin preferred
- Excellent leadership and team work skills required
- High organizational and priority-setting ability required.
Terms:
- Entitlement to benefits starts upon completion of 3 month probationary period
- Regular working hours are 40 hours per week (9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday)
