The Tooth Corner is looking for a friendly and energetic Dental Assistant or Dental Receptionist to join our Napanee Clinic. This position may include some reception duties as well.

Job Description:

This role is primarily clinical chair-side assisting duties including knowledge of instrumentation. The assistant will establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour. The assistant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of as well as preparing treatment room in accordance with infection control and health and safety standards.

Job Duties:

· Routine and typical duties as a dental assistant such as following: personally greet patients, receive and send correspondence and emails, facilitate and schedule appointments, process payments, assist with insurance claims and pre-determinations, screen incoming mail, etc., as directed.

· To ensure patient education and that patients understand the office treatment philosophy, which is to provide the best dentistry possible for all patients.

· To be aware and encourage patients to have the correct treatment at their next visit.

· Assist in adding pre-determination codes to the computer and scheduling future appointments, as directed.

· Ensure that patient has another appointment on leaving, even if it is only tentative.

· Being at work, ready, prior to first patient arrival in morning and after lunch.

· To ensure that all documentation is accurate and complete including signed consent and waiver forms, assisting with processing reports, correspondence, clinical notes and records.

· To positively motivate patients. Ensuring a positive patient experience.

· Ensure patients know what oral aids are available.

· Ensure that any communication with the patient is consistent and in line with office policy.

· Keep personal space and any other common working space clean and tidy. Keep the patient lounge and reception area tidy.

· Maintenance of standards of sterilization and office privacy protocols.

· Monitoring of administrative and office supplies and advising responsible person when stocks are getting low.

· Assist in upholding and promoting the positive reputation of the practice and dentist.

· Actively encourage patients to refer family and friends by promoting the positive aspects of the practice and the dentist.

· Crossover duties and miscellaneous duties to assist the proper functioning of the practice.

· Attend and contribute to team meetings.

· Attend further continuing education courses upon request.

· Maintain correct standards of professional care as expected by all relevant regulatory and professional authorities

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
