Martin’s Bus Service has been serving our communities since 1947. We are seeking an Operations Manager for our Napanee office.
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Napanee office, including the operations, maintenance, and driver teams, while positively representing Martins Bus Service in the community.
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor team members, participate in the hiring, performance management and termination processes for employees; conduct annual goal-setting and semi-annual performance coaching
- Manage relationships with employees, customers and vendors
- Effectively manage escalations and customer issues, coach team members in problem-solving and responsive service delivery
- Manage staff and driver schedules, review and approve time off requests to ensure attainment of optimal productivity
- As part of the management team, participate in strategic planning activities; provide input and make recommendations to improve corporate performance and productivity improvements; implement and communicate strategic initiatives as required
- Manage the Health & Safety and WHMIS programs to ensure corporate compliance and a safe and healthy work environment
- Participate in the development of and manage departmental budget within set parameters
- Continuously review existing programs for process improvements that will enhance productivity and performance
- Oversee the start-up meetings for staff and drivers; ensure drivers receive information relevant to the safe operation of buses; oversee the annual sign-off process and ensure forms are received and tracked
- Collaborate with consortiums, schools, drivers, monitors and parents to resolve student behaviours and any issues on board the bus
- Conduct post-accident reviews and interviews and communicate information to the consortiums
Education, Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ year(s) experience managing a diverse team of part-time employees
- Experience managing operations in the school bus transportation industry is an asset
- Experience using Microsoft Office and other database programs
