Role & Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team in Belleville, Ontario to support our ambitious recruitment efforts as we expand our business operations. As a member of our HR Team, you will play a crucial role in attracting and identifying top talent to support our growing business and its objectives. This role reports into the Director Human Resources and will conduct end-to-end recruitment activities and ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience throughout the entire hiring and onboarding process.
Here are some of the things you’ll be working on:
- Carry out the full cycle recruitment process for various positions across the company and effectively attract, source, and screen candidates. Work closely with hiring managers and the Director Human Resources to define job requirements, qualifications, and expectations for open positions in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of innovative recruitment strategies to target niche roles in order to attract diverse and high-quality candidates. Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to build a robust candidate pipeline.
- Conduct thorough candidate assessments, including resume reviews, phone screens, interviews, and reference checks to ensure alignment with company values and job requirements. Evaluate candidates for relevant skills, knowledge, and qualifications using best practices to ensure a diverse candidate slate is presented to the hiring team.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and changes in the talent acquisition landscape to continuously improve recruitment strategies. Research staffing trends, establish systematic workflows, and recommend solutions to improve our company’s recruitment practices.
- Support in driving key employer branding initiatives and projects, including the internship program and our participation at College and University career fairs by promoting the company’s reputation and attractiveness as a great company with great career opportunities.
- Act as the main point of contact for applicants and candidates as it relates our recruitment process. Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience and timely communication throughout the hiring process.
- As a member of the HR team, act as a contributing resource to other key relevant HR function initiatives including but not limited to: conducting external salary market reviews, assisting in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive job descriptions, and providing support in the company’s training & development plan initiatives.
- Contribute to the HR function locally, regionally and globally by fostering an active, visual, and progressive presence as we help drive the business forward.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field. A CHRP designation, or working towards, would be considered an asset.
- 3-5 years of related HR experience with a focus on recruitment and demonstrated ability to effectively support a variety of recruitment assignments. Experience hiring for positions internationally would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or similar role with familiarity in the technical/engineering field.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software including familiarity with an HRIS, applicant tracking system, or recruiting software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively interact and build relationships.
- High attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Must be a self-starter and demonstrate quality and professionalism in their approach.
