Position Overview:
As a Technical Design & Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle of electronic security installations and providing technical expertise to the sales team. You’ll be ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget, while assisting in the design and configuration of custom security solutions for clients. This role is perfect for a dedicated individual with strong organizational skills, technical acumen, and a collaborative mindset.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Project Management:
- Plan and manage electronic security projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for flawless project execution.
- Ensure resource availability and appropriate allocation.
- Monitor and track project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Manage project risks and make changes to the scope, schedule, and budget using appropriate verification techniques.
- Report and escalate any issues to management as needed.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.
Technical Design:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and provide technical support in designing electronic security systems.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal security solutions.
- Develop detailed system designs, including layout plans, equipment selection, and integration requirements.
- Prepare technical proposals and presentations for clients.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and project quotations.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations in electronic security.
- Provide technical training and support to clients and internal teams as needed.
Does This Sound Like You?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification (preferred).
- Proven project management experience within the electronic security industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems).
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in project management software tools.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
